4 Interesting Things To Note From Samoa Joe’s Interview With Chris Jericho

3. Reason for leaving TNA

Jericho asked Joe the reason for leaving TNA after working 9 years with the company. Joe replied that this was coming for a while. He had accomplished everything he could over there and it was time to move on for bigger and better things.

He said that it was also due to accumulation of some small and big issues with the TNA management. He says it was pretty tough to leave after 9 years but some issues made it clear that it was time to move on.

Jericho asked him what the issues were and Joe answered that question very carefully by saying there were some subtle disagreements between him and the management. TNA officials were moving in a different creative direction and Joe felt that departing from the company is the right decision for both him and TNA.

“It comes to a point where words only go so far and you start reading more into actions and that really helped along with the decision. I didn’t want to remain there until the point where the relationship became poisonous – I’d rather remain positive and take that energy elsewhere.”
