5 Mistakes WWF Made During The New Generation Era

4. Making Diesel the face of the company

Don’t get me wrong, Kevin Nash was a good Giant and a congenial character, who drew a ton of money when him, Hogan and Hall founded the nWo in 1996 while working for Ted Turner’s WCW, but during the WWF’s New Generation Era, he didn’t draw much money as Diesel at all, and even became the worst drawing World Champion of the World Wrestling Federation days (1979-2002).

Sure Bret & especially Shawn didn’t draw very well in the United States either, which can be blamed on Hogan leaving and the WWF going for a youth movement during the New Generation Era, but Diesel drew even less when he was the World Champion in 1995.

As great as “Diesel” Kevin Nash was, those are the official numbers.
