“The Big Dog” Roman Reigns is the second biggest star on SmackDown right now after Universal Champion “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt.
CM Punk facing Roman Reigns in his in-ring return will cause a lot of buzz among the fans as it’ll be a star-studded rivalry.
Reigns and Punk have already crossed paths in the past when The Shield targeted Punk back in 2013. In fact, Reigns is the only member of The Shield to pin Punk in a singles match.

One of the reasons why Punk left was that he never got to main event a WrestleMania. On the other hand, Reigns has already headlined 4 WrestleManias in his 7-year WWE career. Punk would want to prove why he deserved better than Reigns.
Punk returning to the ring to feud with Reigns could make for a great redemption storyline for him. In addition, they both have amazing chemistry between them which will just add an icing to the cake.
Another interesting thing to note here is that Punk is in-part responsible for the internet fans turning on Reigns during his initial push in WWE when Punk appeared on Colt Cabana’s podcast and talked about how WWE officials told him multiple times to make “Roman look strong” during his feud with The Shield.
This could be another interesting point they can use in this feud, where Reigns wants revenge against Punk for hurting his image online.
