1. Tommaso Ciampa Returns
Tommaso Ciampa’s dominant reign as NXT Champion came to an unfortunate end back in March when it was revealed that the 34 year old wrestler needed anterior cervical fusion in order to repair his injured neck.
The injury forced WWE to quickly wrap up a longterm storyline between him and Johnny Gargano, which looked to be culminating at NXT TakeOver: New York a month later, and required him to relinquish the NXT Championship after holding it for 238 days. There were reports that Ciampa won’t be able to compete after that. However, he gave constant updates about his recovery and made it clear that he would return one day.

According to Fightful, WWE had an internal list which had Ciampa cleared for a return on September 11. However, Ciampa denied the report which makes sense because he would want his huge return to be a surprise.
The former NXT Champion may return tonight as it will be a surprise for many in the WWE Universe. WWE has been quite unpredictable recently and they’ve been successful in keeping returns a surprise too.
Ciampa returning tonight will give a huge blow to AEW. No one would want to miss seeing The Blackheart, so WWE may just bring him out tonight which will give fans a reason to switch from AEW to NXT.
