“I will put you in the camel clutch, break your back, make you humble, and then i will f*ck your a$$ with the beer bottle” – The Iron Sheik
The Internet is a funny thing, as it has the power to give a long forgotten Superstar a second chance to be famous again.
The Iron Sheik was a huge star during the 80s, most famous for being the evil iranian Heel World Champion who lost the belt to Hulk Hogan on January 23rd 1984, thus giving birth to Hulkamania.
After a final run as a WWF Wrestler in 1991-1992 under the name of “Colonel Mustapha” and a short stint as manager of The Sultan in 1997, it became quiet about the former Main Eventer.
He would have one last moment, when he won the Gimmick Battle Royal at WWF WrestleMania X-Seven in 2001, but then only wrestled a couple more independent matches, before retiring for good.
Then in 2004, The Iron Sheik did a shoot interview with Boston’s MWF Millennium Wrestling Federation promotion, that basically made him an internet sensation over night, once clips of it leaked online.
His real life manager and Agent Eric Simms did a great job from that point forward, in getting Sheiky Baby booked for more Shoot Interviews (RF Video & Kayfabe Commentaries), aswell as bringing him to the famous Howard Stern Show as a live Studio guest, which eventually resulted in him becoming a member of the ‘Killers of Comedy’.
The Iron Sheik made a second career after Wrestling in ranting on camera, whenever he got the chance to do so, and among his usual victims to bash in such interviews, were The Ultimate Warrior, Brian Blair, Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage, aswell as the retarded midget Beetlejuice from the Howard Stern Show.
He managed to live of his new found fame as an internet sensation from 2006 to 2010, but is now retired from that aswell, as he’s already 73 years old and his body isn’t really in a good condition anymore.
