When WWE announced that WrestleMania 37 will be a two-night event this year, the Wrestling Observer reported that WWE was looking to bring back their special attraction to fill up the two nights with big matches.

However, in a new update from the Wrestling Observer, WrestleMania 37 won’t feature Brock Lesnar, Goldberg and The Undertaker (who officially retired from in-ring competition at Survivor Series 2020).

“No Goldberg, no Undertaker, no Lesnar. So, you’ve taken some of the biggest attractions off and Edge does not replace them. We’ve seen that. He just doesn’t. Edge looks old. Edge is gonna get a lot of criticism.”

Goldberg, Lesnar and Undertaker had matches at WrestleMania 36 last year, but it looks like they won’t be in action at this year’s Show of Shows.

Speaking of big names, Triple H didn’t have a match at WrestleMania 36 and it looks like he won’t have a match at WrestleMania 37 either.

Also, if you noticed in January when Triple H fought Randy Orton on RAW, he wrestled in a T-Shirt because he has dropped some size (as he’s only used as a back-up wrestler now and not as a regular special attraction for big events, so he doesn’t need to be that big while being a WWE Executive).

John Cena also ruled out appearing at WrestleMania 37.

During an interview with Forbes in February, Cena noted that the situation is out of his hands and that he won’t be able to appear at WrestleMania 37 as it will halt the production of his current show and cost a lot of money.

Here’s what Cena said:

“Unfortunately, it’s out of my hands. Every other year except for this year has been completely within my realm.

If this were normal times, I would 100% be there. I’d find a way to contribute somehow. I’ve sat in the crowd as a fan. I’ll do whatever the event asks me to because it means that much to me, and WWE means that much to me, but I’m in Vancouver shooting Peacemaker for HBO Max.

It’s a spinoff series based on my character from Suicide Squad, Peacemaker. It’s an unbelievable opportunity, James Gunn has written the whole thing, he’s directing a bunch of the episodes. This is something that I’m inspired to do.

Because of the quarantine law, if I were to fly to the states for Sunday on WrestleMania — which is totally possible — the complications arrive when I come back to Canada. Because then I would have to quarantine for 14 days and that puts production back more than two weeks, which costs a boatload of money, and that would be super, super, super selfish of me.

Should things beyond my control normalize a bit and travel restrictions lift up, then sure, I’m in. But right now, it is logistically impossible. I can’t do that to Warner, I can’t do that to DC, I can’t do that to James, I can’t do that to the Suicide Squad. It’s just not fair.”

Cena was last seen on WWE programming on Night 2 of WrestleMania 36 last year, where he lost to “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt in a Firefly Fun House match.
