• Big E Confirms His In-Ring Career Is Over
Big E last stepped inside the ring on an episode of SmackDown in March 2022. He teamed up with Kofi Kingston to take on Sheamus and Ridge Holland.
During the bout, Holland hit Big E with a Belly-To-Belly Overhead Suplex outside of the ring, which led to The New Day member suffering a broken neck.
He has stated on multiple occasions that he feels better, but it does not look like he will ever return to the ring. While speaking with Stephanie McMahon on What’s Your Story, the former WWE Champion seemingly confirmed that he’s done as a pro wrestler as he said that his career is “kind of behind him.”
“Thanks for having me. It’s wild, you told me that earlier. I always think, and I’m not trying to do the woe is me thing. But I, for all the people you’ve had on, you know, I always feel like, ‘Why me?’ You know my career is kind of behind me. I’m very much someone who is appreciative. I think I had a really good career. Very proud of it.”
Fightful Select reports that the general belief within WWE is that Big E’s in-ring career is over. In recent years, several sources in the company have described the former WWE Champion as “retired” or referred to him as a “former wrestler.”
Although Big E is no longer competing in the ring, he remains under contract with WWE and has taken on a regular role as a panelist during Premium Live Event pre-shows and post-shows.
• Several WWE Stars Want Their Entrance Music Changed
WWE fans have voiced frustration over the company’s use of Def Rebel-produced entrance themes for a long time. Many feel that the tracks are generic, and that since the production company signed a deal with WWE, stars rarely receive memorable or fitting music.
According to WrestleVotes, several WWE Superstars have reportedly been requesting changes to their entrance music for some time now. Names mentioned include Drew McIntyre and Sheamus, though it’s not clear if all requests will be approved.
On this week’s episode of SmackDown in Perth, Australia, Shinsuke Nakamura and The Street Profits brought back their original entrance music. Nakamura used his classic theme to answer Sami Zayn’s United States Championship Open Challenge, while The Street Profits reverted to their old theme for their WWE Tag Team Championship Match against The Wyatt Sicks.
The return of these old themes has sparked speculation that other stars could see similar music changes in the near future.
• Top WWE Star May Have Hurt Himself After Rough Landing At Crown Jewel
WWE Crown Jewel 2025 was headlined by World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins vs. Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes. The Visionary finally picked up the first win of his career against The American Nightmare to capture the Men’s Crown Jewel Title.
Rollins had promised to do whatever it took to finally defeat Rhodes. During the match, he hit a rare Coast-To-Coast Headbutt, a move not typically in his arsenal, which immediately caught fans’ attention.
Speaking on the Crown Jewel post-show, Rollins revealed that he had a rough landing during the spot and that it could have lasting consequences.
“The truth is, I told Cody that I would do anything. By any means necessary. Whatever it took, I was going to beat him. I saw an opportunity, I took it, it didn’t pay off. Honestly, there might be some long-term ramifications. At the end of the day, I was going to lay it all on the line. I did everything in that ring, no matter what. Rough landing right there. Rough landing.”
The World Heavyweight Champion was seen favoring his left arm after he performed the move. He made it through the match and called himself the greatest of all time after cheating to make his overall career record 1-22 (including Live Event matches) against Cody Rhodes.
