In a rare move, WWE is set to bring AAA star Mr. Iguana directly to its main roster, bypassing the traditional NXT developmental path altogether. The news came straight from the luchador himself during an interview with Línea Directa TV, where he revealed WWE’s high confidence in his marketability and strong fan base. “They told me, you’re not going through NXT — you’re heading straight to the main roster,” Mr. Iguana shared. “We need you here because your shirt is the top seller in WWE, and you’re also the fastest-rising star when it comes to action figures and trading cards.”
The decision appears to be driven largely by Mr. Iguana’s off-the-charts merchandise performance. His T-shirt has reportedly become the top seller in WWE’s online store, and his action figures and trading cards have quickly become some of the most in-demand items among collectors and fans. WWE’s marketing team has long valued these metrics when assessing new signings, and Iguana’s numbers are already outperforming many main roster regulars.
WWE Debut Already in Motion with Worlds Collide and RAW Promo
The buzz around Mr. Iguana’s WWE debut began earlier this month when he appeared at Worlds Collide, teaming with Octagón Jr. and Aero Star to defeat members of the Latino World Order (Dragon Lee and Cruz Del Toro) and Lince Dorado in a six-man tag team match. The performance drew attention not only for its high-energy lucha style but also for the overwhelmingly positive fan response.
Just days later, WWE aired a promo package for Mr. Iguana during Monday Night RAW, introducing his colorful character to a broader audience. It was a clear sign that WWE is already beginning to build anticipation for his official main roster debut.

Mr. Iguana Is Focused on Fun, Not Titles
Despite the major opportunity ahead of him, Mr. Iguana emphasized that his goals remain rooted in entertainment, not championship gold.
“Entering the ring, being up there doing what I have done for 16 years since I started in Culiacán, I felt good,” he said. “I got up there to have fun and represent my city. The United States received me like a ring on a finger, I have nothing to change in my character, I will never change.”
That mindset could make him a unique presence on WWE programming—especially at a time when the company continues to seek crossover appeal for younger and global audiences.
