John Cena will step inside the ring for the final time on December 13 at Saturday Night’s Main Event inside the Capital One Arena in Washington D.C. He’ll face either GUNTHER or LA Knight, the two finalists of The Last Time Is Now Tournament, who collide tonight on SmackDown to determine Cena’s last-ever opponent.
Plenty of major names are expected to be in attendance for Cena’s farewell, and one of them will be former World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins.
Speaking on The Rich Eisen Show, Rollins confirmed that he’ll be in Washington for The GOAT’s final match.
“We’re going to stop through Chicago for the Cleveland game, just because we have a nice little route back from (Washington) DC after John Cena’s last match.”
The Visionary has been out of action since suffering a shoulder injury at Crown Jewel in October.
One name that has been heavily rumored to attend Cena’s final match is former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon, who played a major role in Cena’s rise. However, according to Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer, the chances of McMahon appearing at the 17-time World Champion’s final match are now “increasingly unlikely.”
He added that while this is the case for now, McMahon’s appearance at the event is still “not impossible.”

“I never wanted Vince McMahon to go because I love him” – John Cena
During his interview on The Bill Simmons Podcast, 17-time World Champion John Cena talked about Vince McMahon’s departure from WWE and what the former CEO taught him. Here’s what The G.O.A.T said:
“Of all the things he did and of all the things he taught me, one piece that was very important is that no one is irreplaceable. And that’s the truth.
Vince has so much knowledge. I think what’s happened is unfortunate, because you have this individual with so much depth of field who can still offer things, and we no longer can pull from that.
It’s unfortunate he isn’t in WWE anymore. But it doesn’t mean we don’t have able-bodied folks who can put on creative programming.
So yeah, I never wanted Vince to go because I love him and I know how much he loves the business. But he taught me we’re all going to go.”
