• AEW Wrestler Explains How Vince McMahon Ruined His Identity

AEW wrestler Lance Archer recently appeared on the Talk Is Jericho podcast and talked about how Vince McMahon ruined his identity during his time in WWE.

Archer discussed being in FCW (WWE’s developmental territory) for 6 months and then getting called up to WWE’s ECW brand.

He kept long hair and a braided goatee in FCW, but all of that changed moments before his WWE debut.

Below is what Archer said:

“All of a sudden, [John Laurinaitis] calls me over and is like, ‘Kid, we’re cutting your hair.’ ‘Alright, am I on TV tonight?’ ‘Yeah’. They literally took me to the hairdresser.

They chopped my hair and told them to shave my face and leave the jacket. I was still getting the opportunity, but everything I created in my mind as an identity was taken away.”

Vince McMahon then told him:

“We’re gonna break you down to build you up.”
