• AEW Wrestler Says He Won’t Go Back To WWE

AEW Wrestler Miro (fka WWE Superstar Rusev) was recently interviewed on an episode of Renee Young’s podcast, where he addressed the ongoing rumors that he might want to return to WWE, once his AEW contract is over.

The former United States Champion said he doesn’t want to return to WWE because of the schedule:

“It’s different, just listening to [Sheamus] and all these guys. Just knowing he’s four or five days on the road, it’s too much. I don’t want to do that, especially right now, knowing that, eventually, I want to do something else. I want to work towards that.”

Rusev wrestled on WWE TV from 2013 until he was released in April 2020 due to budget cuts in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, but joined Tony Khan’s All Elite Wrestling a few months later in September 2020.

During an interview with Whatculture, Miro said the following about why he prefers AEW over WWE:

“It’s always going to be the freedom. Whenever anybody asks me, ‘What is the difference here?’, it’s the freedom. You don’t have to set yourself in a lower standard, because that’s what I thought the other place was. They let you lower your standard in order to fit their mold.

Which here, it’s not like that. You have a style, you go out there, you do your style to your best, and that’s what makes professional wrestling so much better because you see different clashes of style, different styles clash in the ring.”
