While WWE announced on their website that their wrestlers were stuck in Saudi Arabia due to mechanical problems in the plane, various reports state that the Saudi Arabia Crown Prince ordered the WWE wrestlers to be taken off the plane due to issues with Vince McMahon (tap here to know more).

With that being said, United States Champion AJ Styles is now telling a completely different story.

During his Mixer gaming stream, Styles discussed what went down in Saudi Arabia while playing video games.

Styles noted that reports of issues between WWE & Saudi Arabia were exaggerated and wrestlers weren’t held hostage (while Karl Anderson’s wife said they were).

Styles then said that wrestlers were stuck in Saudi Arabia because of paperwork issues and the worker who came to refuel the plane leaving.

Also, the pilots left because their shift was over. Styles noted that he didn’t think all of this was odd.

Styles’ version of the story is different from what WWE announced and what various inside sources have revealed so far.

We’ll keep you updated regarding this.
