CM Punk defeated Samoa Joe in the opening match of All Elite Wrestling’s 2023 All In pay-per-view at the Wembley Stadium in London to retain the “Real” AEW World Championship this past Sunday.

Before the main show went on air, Punk got into a fight with “Jungle Boy” Jack Perry backstage as Perry took a shot at Punk during the show’s Zero Hour (pre-show). Their altercation involved a lot of physicality and yelling.

Punk also had some harsh words for AEW President Tony Khan that day.

Earlier this week, Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer broke the news that AEW suspended Punk and Perry while the incident between them is being investigated, which means both of them would miss the All Out pay-per-view in Chicago this Sunday.

According to Fightful Select, AEW had plans for Punk to defend the “Real” AEW World Championship against Ricky Starks in the main event of All Out before his suspension.

Now, instead of facing Punk, Starks is now looking to face WWE Hall of Famer Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat in a Strap Match at All Out.

Below is what Tony Khan tweeted about it:

“This Saturday, September 2

This Saturday on @TNTdrama, Absolute @starkmanjones will appear LIVE on AEW Collision to challenge Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat to a strap match THIS Sunday at #AEWAllOut!”
