Let’s get something straight right away, John Cena was a great, great Heel in 2003, but eventually became so over due to his funny raps before the matches, so they had to turn him Babyface.
So far so good, and Cena was alright as a Babyface in 2004 and 2005 but around January 2006, the WWE fans started to turn on him and boo him.
The first time, he was booed out of the building happened in the main event of WrestleMania 22 where they would cheer Triple H instead, who had been the company’s #1 Heel for almost 4 years at that point.
WrestleMania 22 happened in 2006 but 10 years later, John Cena is still a Babyface who gets booed out of the building on a regular basis, making him by far our Number 1 on this list.
But why didn’t they turn him Heel yet, after getting booed for 10 years?
That’s actually a funny story, because Cena is still by far the Cash Cow and #1 draw of the entire company.
But how’s that even possible?
Well, John Cena brings in all the little kids, which became their biggest demographic after the WWE changed its TV-Rating to PG in 2008 and permanently in 2009.
While Batista outdrew him in 2005, Cena has been by far the #1 draw of the company from 2006 till today, so despite getting booed on a regular basis, he must do something right, wouldn’t you say?
Keep in mind that since 2008, John outdrew ALL of the respective #2 draws, whoever it was at that time, by at least 5 times!!!
It’s all well documented.
His gimmick just isn’t working for adults at all, I mean Cena even dresses like a 12 year old skater boy …
