Earlier this year, Cody Rhodes returned to WWE after 6 years and became a top babyface on Monday Night RAW.
On his very first night on the red brand, he made his intentions clear – he wants to win the WWE Championship, something that his late father Dusty Rhodes couldn’t.
According to Fightful Select, before Vince McMahon announced his retirement, he had not solidified plans to have Cody win the WWE Championship or the Universal Championship.
Vince was fully onboard with having Roman Reigns as the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship for the summer and didn’t float any ideas about Reigns losing the Titles.
