• On This Day In Pro Wrestling History (August 18, 1997) – Old School Wrestling Veteran Passed Away
On this day in 1997, we lost Old School Wrestling Veteran “The Final Solution” Jeep Swenson (Real name: Robert Swenson Jr.) at the age of 40 due to heart failure.
After making a name for himself in Fritz Von Erich’s WCCW World-Class Championship Wrestling territory as “The Mercenary” Jeep Swenson, and a stint in the later GWF Global Wrestling Federation, he was brought into Ted Turner’s WCW World Championship Wrestling in 1996 as “The Final Solution” to join “The Alliance to End Hulkamania”, consisting of The Four Horsemen, The Dungeon of Doom & Z-Gangsta (fka Zeus).
After jewish organisations grouched about Jeep’s new name, WCW president Eric Bischoff decided to slightly change it to “The Ultimate Solution”.
Jeep Swenson also had roles in quite a few Hollywood movies, for example playing “Lugwrench” Perkins in ‘No Holds Barred’ and playing Bane in the famous 1997 movie ‘Batman & Robin’.
REST IN PEACE JEEP SWENSON!
• Becky Lynch Not Happy With How WWE Handled Her Relationship With Seth Rollins On TV
During a recent interview with Barnburner Radio Network, RAW Women’s Champion “The Man” Becky Lynch discussed her relationship with Universal Champion Seth Rollins being a part of WWE programming.
Becky isn’t happy with how WWE handled their relationship and below is what she said:
“So here’s the thing, Seth Rollins: #1 love of my life…#2 like the best, the best in the world — absolutely incredible. The way I look at it is if I was a fan and I saw two of the best, the male and female best fighting together side-by-side I would be into it and if you know we’re in a relationship then you know. If you know, you know. Of course, it was mentioned every five minutes in case you didn’t know and I think that was a little off-putting.
People don’t want to see The Man needing a man. They don’t want to see Seth Rollins needing anybody else because we’re two powerful entities on our own. Fighting side-by-side it’s like, ‘I got your back, you got my back, let’s do this, let’s beat the bejesus out of these people — that’s cool. When it’s all about our freaking relationship and that’s forced nobody was into that. Am I wrong? Am I wrong? No, people were like: ‘We get it, we know, shut the hell up.’
Sometimes I think we over-explain things where it’s like let’s let people make up their own minds. Then whatever opinions they have that’s their opinions.”
