“The Maharaja” Jinder Mahal shocked the world about a month back when he won a 6 pack challenge to become the #1 Contender for the WWE Championship. He will now get his first ever Title match in WWE at Backlash 2017.

For those who don’t know, Jinder was put in the main event scene to generate more interest in WWE for the Indian viewers and to generate big sales with the newly opened WWE Shop in India.

We noted before how betting odds (which are correct 95% of the times) suggested that Orton was the favorite to win at Backlash 2017, but that isn’t the case anymore.

According to the updated betting odds, Jinder is now the favorite to win this match at Backlash 2017. However, it should be noted that this doesn’t necessarily mean that Jinder is going to win the WWE Championship as he might win the match via DQ or count-out (which means the Title doesn’t change hands).

If Jinder ends up winning the WWE Championship, then he will become the first ever Indian origin WWE Champion (The Great Khali was the World Heavyweight Champion, so he isn’t the first ever Indian origin WWE Champion).
