Big Push For Cesaro Coming This Summer, Sheamus Makes History

As we reported a few months back, Triple H wanted to split the team of Cesaro & Tyson Kidd so they can receive a singles push this year.

However Vince McMahon was against the idea and wanted to keep the team together, due to a weak tag team division.

With Tyson Kidd out for almost one full year due to his neck injury, it looks like Triple H is going with his original plan and is going to push Cesaro this Summer. There was a lot of buzz backstage in WWE when Cesaro was protected in his US Title match against John Cena on the June 29th edition of WWE Raw, where Kevin Owens interfered during the match. Some reports suggest that there’s a reason for Cesaro facing Cena again for the US Title, and this time in the main event of WWE Raw.

The North American Wrestling Rankings blog, which has been keeping TV stats since November 2006, noted that Sheamus has made history by becoming the first wrestler ever to win 200 televised matches on this week’s WWE Raw. Below is what they posted:

“When Sheamus defeated Roman Reigns by countout on the 7/6/15 episode of Raw it was his 200th televised singles victory! The Celtic Warrior is the first wrestler to win 200 tv matches!!! [He was just the 4th wrestler to win 100 matches back on 8/3/12]. Others nearing this milestone [as of 7/8/15] are Randy Orton with 197 wins and John Cena with 188.”

Sheamus acknowledged his achievement & tweeted the following:
