17. Kevin Owens Reveals What’s His WrestleMania Dream Match

During a recent interview with NOLA.com, current United States Champion Kevin Owens discussed WrestleMania 34 being in New Orleans, who his dream opponent is & more. Below are the highlights:

On buying a ticket to be in attendance for WrestleMania 30:

“It was a show I’ll remember for a very long time because I was watching it and thinking, ‘Next year I need to be backstage, and in a couple of years, I need to be performing.’ And sure enough, that’s exactly what happened. Those three years have been pretty incredible. It was a thing I was doing for myself to try to motivate me. I had done the tryout. I felt like I had given everything I had, and if I wasn’t good enough after that, then I didn’t belong in the WWE. Thankfully, it worked out in my favor.”

On what he wants to do at WrestleMania 34:

“Even though I’ve already lived so many great things, I feel like it’s only the tip of the iceberg. I’d love to be involved in the WWE Title match at WrestleMania 34 or at the very least be defending my United States championship. I have no intention of letting that go anytime soon.”

On his favorite WrestleMania match:

“Undertaker-Shawn Michaels from WrestleMania 25 is untouchable. I think it’s the greatest wrestling match of all-time. I haven’t seen anything better since, and I watch a lot of wrestling. It’s absolutely perfect. I was in awe, it was so good.”

On who his dream opponent for WrestleMania is:

“If you say past, it’s Shawn Michaels hands down. If you say present, Sami Zayn and I have had such a rich history, I feel like a one-on-one match at WrestleMania would be so perfect. But there’s also Finn Balor. He’s my best friend.

He’s probably the one guy if I could sit across from in the ring at WrestleMania, that would make my career. Finn and I got to WWE at the same time, and we dived into an unknown territory. We gravitated toward each other very quickly. He’s like a brother to me now.”
