On this day in Pro Wrestling history in 1998, WWF King of the Ring PPV took place. Ken Shamrock defeated The Rock to win the King of the Ring tournament.

This PPV is best known for The Undertaker & Mankind facing off in the most brutal Hell in a Cell match of all time. Undertaker threw Mankind off the top of the cell through the announce table. Mankind climbed to the top of the cell again and was chokeslammed through the cell into the ring.
