3. Randy Orton To Face Brock Lesnar At SummerSlam 2016?
It was announced on Raw that Brock Lesnar’s SummerSlam 2016 opponent will be announced on this week’s SmackDown. There’s has been a lot of speculation since then about who could it be.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer noted that Lesnar’s opponent could be the 12 time WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Randy Orton.
As we noted before, Orton is scheduled for WWE Live Events in August. He has been out of action due to a shoulder injury since last October. Orton is scheduled to visit the WWE Performance Center next week to train and get medically cleared to return to in-ring action.
As seen in the video above, Orton & Lesnar faced off back in 2002 on SmackDown.
Speaking of Orton, below is fun fact about him revealed by Noelle Foley (Mick Foley’s daughter):
“We were backstage, probably five years ago and Randy Orton drops his shirt and I’m like, ‘dad, Randy has just dropped his shirt’ and he calls back. He’s like, ‘Randy, you dropped your shirt’ and Randy’s like, ‘oh, you can have it’, like pointing to me. First thing I do is smell the shirt because that’s me. And it was fruity! Randy Orton smells fruity.”
