Ever since Brock Lesnar yelled ‘DC, I’m coming for you, Motherf***er’ at UFC 226, there’s been speculation that Lesnar would eventually face Daniel Cormier for the UFC Heavyweight Championship sometime in 2019.

However, it looks like that might not be the case anymore.

During a recent interview with ESPN, Cormier noted that he’ll have two more fights before he retires next year. One is going to be against Derrick “The Black Beast” Lewis at UFC 230 on November 3, 2018 and Cormier wants his last fight to be against Jon Jones (who was recently cleared to return by USADA).

Below is what Cormier said:

“Counting the Lewis fight, I think I’m down to two fights left. Maybe this will be a blessing in disguise, the fact that I don’t have a crazy, long fight camp to beat myself down. That may prolong it for me, but right now, I think I have this one and maybe one more.

I can still fight in March and hit my retirement date. The one opponent that would matter to me most is Jones, because he’s beaten me twice. The one that would mean more financially would be Lesnar. I think I would always pick the one that means more, but my wife might have something to say about that.”

With that being said, if Lesnar vs. Cormier doesn’t happen, then there are very high chances of UFC President Dana White booking a fight between Lesnar & Jones (which is a bigger draw than Lesnar vs. Cormier anyway).

For those who don’t remember, Jones called out Lesnar for a fight after his second win over Cormier back at UFC 214 last year and you can check out his promo in the above video.
