• CM Punk Planned His All Out Media Scrum Rant Weeks Ago

CM Punk taking shots at AEW EVPs Kenny Omega & Young Bucks during the All Out 2022 media scrum led to a backstage fight.

This resulted in all the people involved in the fight getting suspended (although it’s not known if Punk got suspended too or not, but he’s going to be out of action for 8 months due to a triceps injury).

According to PWTorch, Punk met with AEW President Tony Khan before All Out and told him that he had something in mind for the media scrum:

“I was told that Tony knew something was coming from Punk, and he had some idea, he had something he wanted to bring up. So, watching Punk, he had the agenda.”

The Wrestling Observer also confirmed this report:

“One person noted that two weeks ago when Punk returned, he said that the press conference after the PPV would be interesting.

I do know that if you talk to people there, they believe that this had been planned and that he was fully intending to go in and do exactly what he did on that day.

It was very clear it was planned because it was so practiced and everything. I think that the idea was he wanted to use (Journalist) Nick Hausman to tell his speech on Colt Cabana, which was pretty out of context, really.”
