• CM Punk Reacts To Fans Criticizing John Cena Giving Up In Retirement Match

During an interview with Robbie Fox on My Mom’s Basement podcast, CM Punk compared the finish of Stranger Things to the finish of John Cena’s retirement match against Gunther, where Cena finally gave up and tapped out to end his legendary WWE career. Here’s what the World Heavyweight Champion said:

“I thought it was great. I was super happy about it, but people have their opinions. Just like the John Cena and Gunther finish. I feel like it’s the same thing. Some people, maybe I don’t think you understand what you’re watching.

If you didn’t like it, I can also understand that. To make it your entire personality and spend an unhealthy amount of time talking about it…I’ll put it this way, if John won, they’d be mad about that too, but we wouldn’t be talking about it anymore.

We’re still talking about that finish. The smile, the tap. ‘Oh my God, the guy who said don’t give up, gave up.’ Did he? I thought it was beautiful.”

• Another Female WWE Main Roster Call-Up Confirmed

On this week’s episode of NXT New Year’s Evil, NXT General Manager Ava confirmed that Jordynne Grace has officially joined the WWE main roster. Right now, it’s not known if Grace will be on RAW or SmackDown. She did appear on last week’s SmackDown and confronted WWE Women’s Champion Jade Cargill.

Below is the list of recent NXT call-ups:

Lash Legend: SmackDown

Je’Von Evans: RAW

Trick Williams: SmackDown

Jordynne Grace: TBD

Expect Oba Femi to be added to this list as well. In the main event of New Year’s Evil, Oba defeated TNA X-Division Champion Leon Slater to retain the NXT Championship. After the match, Femi relinquished the title and left the belt in the ring. WWE has been showing vignettes for Oba on RAW and SmackDown, so expect him to be called up to the main roster as well.

As previously reported, there have been some discussions for former NXT Women’s North American Champion Blake Monroe to be called up as well, although nothing is confirmed.

• WWE Considering Jacy Jayne For Main Roster Call-Up After “Sink Or Swim” Test

Jacy Jayne’s rise in NXT is being treated internally less as a breakout moment and more as a test she passed. Discussions within WWE have recently revisited Jayne as a potential main-roster addition, following what NXT decision-makers viewed as a strong response to increased responsibility in 2025. According to Fightful Select, Jayne’s name has come up again in conversations about a main roster call-up.

Jayne’s championship run changed how she was viewed. After years spent largely in tag teams and mid-card roles, she was positioned as NXT Women’s Champion in what sources described as a “sink or swim” scenario. Those familiar with the situation said she delivered when the spotlight shifted, which has kept her firmly on the radar beyond NXT.

Interest in Jayne is not new. WWE officials first took notice following her appearance on SmackDown in August 2022, an outing that left a positive impression at the time. Since then, her name has resurfaced periodically whenever internal discussions turned to potential call-ups.

Now, with her 2025 body of work complete and her credibility as a singles performer more firmly established, Jayne is again being evaluated as someone who could transition to the main roster if timing and creative needs align.

On this week’s NXT New Year’s Evil, Jacy defeated WWE Evolve Women’s Champion Kendal Grey to retain the NXT Women’s Championship.
