CM Punk’s firing from AEW led to a significant change in the pro wrestling industry, prompting Impact Wrestling to explore a potential free agent for their upcoming Bound for Glory event.
Fightful was asked if there’s a chance of CM Punk showing up at the Bound For Glory 2023 pay-per-view, considering it’s taking place at the at Cicero Stadium in Cicero, Illinois.
Believe it or not, but the former 2-time AEW World Champion joining the #3 promotion in the United States, formerly known as TNA, isn’t as far-fetched as most fans might think.
Here’s what Fightful reported about the situation:
“I know a lot of people scoff at it, but yeah IMPACT would welcome CM Punk. Beyond obvious reasons, people said he was really great backstage when he visited.”
WrestlePurists later reported that IMPACT Wrestling reached out to Punk and made him an offer.
CM Punk enjoyed his time backstage in IMPACT Wrestling, when he visited them during past TV-tapings in Chicago, especially since he wasn’t kicked out, like in WWE when he showed up backstage there during his AEW suspension and was asked to leave.
The future of Punk’s career could depend on whether IMPACT Wrestling secures a deal, as he may have limited options for his future in professional wrestling.
