• Cody Rhodes Explains Why AEW Isn’t Looking For Attitude Era Legends

During a recent interview with TMZ Sports, All Elite Wrestling Executive Vice President Cody Rhodes explained why AEW isn’t looking for Legends from the Attitude Era.

Below is what Cody said:

“I think we’re looking for wrestlers and I’m not knocking anything in the mainstream, but that’s what won with ALL IN – fresh, fresh product.

It’s a mistake if you just try to lead with familiar faces from the days of old. We can’t keep reminding people that the Attitude Era was great. We all know it was really great.

This era can be really good too so that’s my goal, that’s my job to find the fresh guys, you know.”

Cody also said the following regarding UFC Fighters possibly joining AEW:

“That might be a fun challenge. I think something like that if they have the passion for wrestling then it really works out. That’s one of my big knocks is that you can’t teach passion.

So as long as somebody is passionate about it and knows it’s kinda a hard gig which those guys already bust their ass I can imagine that could be a cool little cross-over.”
