Debra: He was always getting mad at somebody. I had to walk with my head down, so he wouldn’t yell at me or yell at the guys or anything.
Host: What was the final straw that broke the camel’s back between you two?
Debra: I told him, I said, “If you hit me one more time, that’s it.” And I’m a woman of my word. So when that happened, I knew I was gonna lose my job. I knew it was gonna be everywhere. And when I made that phone call, he left the house and the police came within 5 minutes. And I knew then it was…well, it was so embarrassing.
Host: When he would hit, would it be just a slap or would actually be fist or….?
Debra: The last time he hit me, it was really pretty violent. He did a backhand on me and then he was pounding me in my head. So that was…I can understand how women feel when you’re going to die because I thought my head was gonna explode.
Host: Well how did you get him off?
