After losing the #1 contenders spot in the WWE Championship match at WrestleMania 33 to “The Viper” Randy Orton in the main event of SmackDown Live, “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles clearly wasn’t happy and took his frustrations out when he went backstage.
Styles confronted SmackDown Live commissioner Shane McMahon backstage and asked if this is the kind of opportunities he gives.
For those who don’t know, Styles already earned his spot in the WWE Title match at WrestleMania 33 by defeated Luke Harper last week on SmackDown Live, but Orton wanting to re-invoke his WWE Title match at WrestleMania 33 (as he won the 2017 Royal Rumble match) confused Shane O’Mac and he decided to book Orton vs. Styles, in which Styles lost.

As we noted before, AJ Styles vs. Shane McMahon is expected to take place at WrestleMania 33 and that the build-up for their feud was expected to start tonight, which it did.
