• Former World Champion Is Reportedly “WWE For Life”

As we noted before, Fightful Select is reporting that AJ Styles is making $3 million per year under his new multi-year WWE contract.

This could be AJ’s final contract as a wrestler, as he is 44 years old.

According to PWTorch, Styles is very happy in the company and he is “WWE For Life”, which means he plans on staying affiliated with WWE even after his in-ring days are over:

“AJ Styles signed a deal following in the footsteps of Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens as really talented wrestlers that a lot of fans would have been intrigued to see go to AEW.

But as I’m hearing WWE — I’m not saying they’re at the percent they should be at it in terms of paid talent versus revenue coming in or anything like that, but they are paying more people multi-million dollars per year easily than in the past.

Not anybody gets it, but I’m hearing quite a few people are getting deals where they’re just like, ‘oh, yeah, I’ll take that.’ and I think AJ is one of them, who has immense respect within the company with his peers and management and it’s been a good journey for him in WWE.

It sounds like he wants to stay there even past his wrestling days. He just likes the organization and so he’s gonna be a lifer.”

During a recent interview with Wrestlinginc, Styles had the following to say about his new contract:

“It was easy. I want to be here, this is the place for me. If they let me I will retire here, I hope to work in WWE in some capacity when I retire. I enjoy what I do.”

When asked if he’ll like to have a role similar to that of Shawn Michaels in NXT / WWE Performance Center, Styles replied:

“I would love to have that opportunity. I love to see people be successful, and having a hand in that to me, it would probably be the best thing I could do in my career. But, I don’t know that I’ll get that opportunity, I am just saying.”
