Back in 2017, former WWE Diva Ariel (aka Shelly Martinez) revealed that a backstage incident with Ruthless Aggression Era Legend Batista led to her release from the company in May 2007.
Here’s what she said 6 years ago:
“The time has definitely come and one of the signs that I know that wrestling is done for me is a couple.
I’ve been having a real hard time these last couple of months and ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ has been promoted and now is out.
For those of you that know that me and Dave Bautista got in a fight backstage, that’s how I got fired, so it’s been interesting for me to drive around town and I see Dave Bautista’s face everywhere.
There’s a lot of healing that I did through all of that but I was finding myself getting depressed.
I would wonder why am I depressed and I would backtrack my day and a lot of times it was triggered by Batista.”
However, Shelly Martinez took to Twitter on May 8th 2023 and revealed to the public that her and the former 6-time World Champion are on good terms again and everything is fine now.
Here’s what she tweeted:
“When people make fun of Batista to me it’s annoying. Just because I had an incident with him YEARS ago doesn’t mean I wanna make fun of him.
It’s the past and VERY old news. We made amends and ended that negative energy a LONG time ago.”

After her time in WWE (2006-2007), Shelly Martinez also wrestled for Dixie Carter’s ‘Total Nonstop Action!’ from October 2007 until July 2008 as L.A.X. member Salinas.
She eventually retired from professional wrestling in 2017.
