7. The Usos Turn Heel on SmackDown Live, American Alpha Pulled From Backlash 2016 Due To Chad Gable’s “Knee Injury”

On last night’s episode of SmackDown Live, American Alpha defeated The Usos in a quick match to advance to the finals of the Tag Team Championship tournament. Before the match, Usos attacked American Alpha but that didn’t quite help their case.

After they lost the match, Usos brutally attacked Chad Gable and injured his knee. It should be noted that this is a storyline injury, not a legitimate injury. American Alpha will no longer compete at Backlash 2016. The Usos will now face The Hype Bros (who lost to Rhyno & Heath Slater) at Backlash 2016 and the winner of that match will face the team of Rhyno/Slater later in the night for SmackDown’s Tag Team Titles.

Below is what WWE posted regarding Gable’s injury:

Following a blindside attack from The Usos after their SmackDown Tag Team Championship Tournament Match earlier in the night, SmackDown LIVE Commissioner Shane McMahon revealed on WWE Network’s Talking Smack that American Alpha member Chad Gable’s MCL was injured and he would be out of actions for two to four weeks.

Because of Gable’s injury, he will not be able to compete at Backlash, thus eliminating American Alpha from title contention. In their place will be the winners of a match between The Usos and fellow semifinalists The Hype Bros which will also take place at Backlash.

As seen in the video above, Usos appeared on Talking Smack and talked about they busted their a$$ for 6 years in the WWE and the fans still didn’t show them any respect.
