6. Curt Hawkins Returning To WWE Programming Next Week, “The Phenomenal One” Goes Low on SmackDown Live

Curt Hawkins will return to WWE under new gimmick on next week’s episode of SmackDown Live, which will be the post-Backlash 2016 edition of the show.

Below is the latest promo for him:

During the main event segment of the show, AJ Styles & WWE World Champion Dean Ambrose came face-to-face and Ambrose gave Styles an old participation trophy of him and said that’s the only trophy he’s ever getting from him. Styles then reminded Ambrose that he’s the face that runs the place now as he defeated John Cena clean at SummerSlam 2016, and the “Never Give Up” wristband of Cena that he’s wearing now is his trophy. Ambrose then reminded him that he’s the WWE World Champion so that means Styles is the second best and he doesn’t get a trophy for that. This led to Styles hitting a low-blow on Ambrose to end the show. You can watch it below:

Below is the updated match-card for Backlash 2016:

WWE World Championship Match: Dean Ambrose (c) vs. AJ Styles

– Randy Orton vs. Bray Wyatt

Intercontinental Championship Match: The Miz (c) vs. Dolph Ziggler

SmackDown Women’s Championship Match: Nikki Bella vs. Natalya vs. Becky Lynch vs. Naomi vs. Alexa Bliss vs. Carmella

SmackDown Tag Team Championship Match: Rhyno & Heath Slater vs. TBA (The Usos or The Hype Bros)

– The Usos vs. The Hype Bros (Winner faces Rhyno & Heath Slater in the finals of the Tag Team Tournament to crown the 1st ever SmackDown Tag Team Champions)
