3. Seth Rollins Talks About A Fan Trying To Enter The Ring During His Promo On Raw, Will WWE Change The Name of The Universal Championship?

During a recent Q&A session with ESPN, former WWE World Champion Seth Rollins talked about a fan trying to enter the ring during his promo on the go-home edition of Raw for SummerSlam 2016. Below is what he said:

“Uh, well, delivering a promo, talking directly to Finn Balor, calling out the Demon King, and all of a sudden to my left I see a young man slide into the ring with a hard hat on — I had to give him a little push and make sure that he kept his distance and our security handled it. A guy who’s not supposed to be in the ring, it’s not his domain. He was a stagehand helping out with us that day and, you know, felt that the time was right to get his 15 seconds or whatever he wanted to do in that moment. Obviously, if you’re a fan and you’re watching our show, please don’t get in the ring. It really doesn’t work out well for anybody. That guy’s probably going to see some jail time or some stiff consequences, and he’s lucky that it ended up as peacefully as it did, to be honest with you. Really, don’t try that when you come to the building. I urge it, it just doesn’t work out well for you or for me. So, you know, let’s just hope that’s not a recurring theme.”

Speaking of Rollins, he will compete against “The Demon King” Finn Balor to crown the first ever Universal Champion. The name “Universal” has been criticized and mocked by SmackDown stars & fans for weeks now and there’s a very slight possibly of WWE reconsidering their decision and changing the name of the Title.

This has happened before. At TLC 2013, WWE was scheduled to unify the WWE Championship & the World Heavyweight Champion in a TLC match between Randy Orton & John Cena. WWE did a fan poll and the result was that the title would’ve been called the “WWE Unified Championship”. However, that wasn’t the case on the night of TLC 2013 as the Authority announced that a “WWE World Heavyweight Champion” will be crowned. No explanation was given regarding the sudden name change.
