Below are a couple of top news stories of the day, featuring Goldberg and Maven.
• Goldberg recently reflected on the controversial end to his iconic WCW winning streak at Starrcade 1998, where his 173-0 undefeated run was broken by Kevin Nash with an assist from Scott Hall’s cattle prod.
Speaking with Inside The Ropes, Goldberg expressed disappointment in how the moment unfolded, stating he had envisioned something far more dramatic.
Goldberg revealed he wanted the cattle prod spot to involve a much more intense display, saying, “If you beat me, you have to put 50,000 volts through me,” but WCW opted for a less impactful presentation.
Instead of being “lit up like a Christmas tree,” Goldberg sold the prod, took the Jackknife Powerbomb from Nash, and took the pin, a conclusion he still regrets. “I wanted them to shoot the barbs in me and light me up… I’m still pi$$ed off,” he admitted, decades later.

• Maven Huffman, winner of Tough Enough Season 1 and former WWE star, recently shared details about his WWE royalty payments on his YouTube channel.
Known for his 2002 feud with The Undertaker, Maven revealed that his royalties significantly decreased after the launch of the WWE Network in 2014.
He disclosed that his latest royalty check amounted to just $63, attributing the drop to changes in WWE’s distribution model. Despite the decline, Maven expressed gratitude, noting his surprise at still receiving payments nearly 20 years after leaving the ring in 2005.
Before the WWE Network, royalties were a substantial income source for Maven, who recalled earning $2,000 to $5,000 quarterly from DVD, video, and merchandise sales. He described those payments as a welcome financial boost during his early post-WWE years.
