Below are a couple of top WWE news stories of the day, both involving Roman Reigns.
• Roman Reigns will end 2023 with 5 televised defenses of the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship this year.
During an interview with Sports Illustrated, Intercontinental Champion Gunther defended The Tribal Chief’s lack of title defenses this year and said it’s necessary to keep things special.
Below is what The Ring General said:
“Roman is in a completely different category. He’s been champion for so long. It should only happen a few times of the year, very special occasions.
I’m in a completely different story establishing myself. That’s something the other two (WWE Champion Roman Reigns and World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins) don’t need to do, and I’m working to enhance the legacy of the Intercontinental Championship.”
• WWE announced the following last month:
“Bash in Berlin, the first-ever major WWE Premium Live Event to be held in Germany, will emanate from the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Berlin, Germany, on Saturday, August 31, 2024.”
Current Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns isn’t being advertised for this PLE.
You can check out the official poster for this PLE below, which doesn’t feature The Tribal Chief:
As we have noted before, Reigns isn’t being advertised for Elimination Chamber 2024 in Australia either.
