• Edge Recalls How Kind Bruno Sammartino Was

During a recent edition of E&C’s Pod of Awesomeness, WWE Hall of Famer Edge shared a touching story about deceased Hall of Famer, Bruno Sammartino.

Below is what Edge said:

“I’d met Bruno a couple of times, very nice, very cordial, very polite, very interested and engaged in the conversation. He’d look you in the eyes. He’s one of those guys, a solid handshake, a pat on the back; but, I had my second neck surgery in 2012 in Pittsburgh by Dr. Joseph Maroon and I woke up from surgery and they took me in my room.

I was sitting there and my voice was a little hoarse and I was still kind of coming to and my hospital room phone rings and Beth picks it up and she goes, ‘Adam, it’s Bruno.’ It was Bruno Sammartino. He found out I was in town, was having neck surgery and got the number to my hospital room and called me post-surgery to make sure I was ok and it completely blew my brain.

We’d met and he made a huge impact on me, obviously; but, it was still so surreal to be post-surgery and talking to Bruno Sammartino, who was just concerned.

I think that to me exemplifies what kind of man he was.”

• Hulk Hogan & WWE Close To A Deal

WWE has recently issued multiple statements regarding Hulk Hogan’s status with the company. One of them was the following:

“Hulk Hogan is not currently under contract to WWE.”

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer noted that the wording of the above statement itself suggests that WWE & Hogan are close to a deal.

The Saudi Arabia officials asked for Hulk Hogan to appear at the Greatest Royal Rumble event, but WWE decided to not make that move.

• RAW Star Says A Vast Majority Of WWE Roster Wouldn’t Have Survived 11 Years Ago

During a recent interview with WWE, RAW Superstar Drew McIntyre talked about getting signed by WWE 11 years ago and below is what he said about the current WWE roster:

“I remember thinking, ‘Man, people are so relaxed now,’ acting like it’s not live Raw. There’s no tension in the air. Everyone is just getting along like we’re at band camp. There are Superstars that deserve to be at the top and do give everything. But unfortunately, a vast majority wouldn’t have survived 11 years ago when I got signed.”
