Long-time WWF/WWE promoter Vince McMahon recently sold the promotion to UFC-owner Endeavor for $9.3 billion.
During a recent appearance on ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’ podcast, 2-time WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair revealed that he still defends McMahon and that he doesn’t think Vince is going to take any orders from someone above him in the company, after the sale.
Here’s what The Nature Boy had to say during the interview with the famous UFC commentator:
“I just can’t see Vince taking orders. That will be a strange one for me if someone tried to tell Vince what the hell to do.
He’s my hero.
I judge people by how they treat me and he has treated me like, I’ve never had anyone treat me with more respect in this business.
He’s a great guy. I don’t care what he does. He’s my hero.
He’s got balls bigger than f**king Dallas, Texas. He’s not easily intimidated.
He just spends all day… he’s so invested time-wise and mentally. To me, he’s sharp as a tack.
He had a chance, took a break from it, but it gave him a chance to look at the product, come back at it, and fix what he thought was right or wrong.
To me, he’s entitled to do that. He owns it, he built it.”
On July 22nd 2022, Vince McMahon officially retired from all his positions within WWE as a result of the infamous hush money & $exual misconduct scandals.
However, Mr. McMahon returned to WWE’s Board of Directors on January 6th 2023, and prepared the above mentioned sale.
In 2022, VICE released an unofficial documentary about Vince McMahon on their own, with the title ‘The 9 Lives of Vince McMahon’, but critics didn’t have anything good to say about it, as it mostly featured clips from past ‘Dark Side of the Ring’ episodes, with a few newer interviews in between.
