As we all know, Wrestling Legend Mick Foley sacrificed his body and his health during his long illustrious career, even including several potentially life-endangering bumps.
During a recent episode of his weekly ‘Snake Pit’ podcast, fellow WWF Legend and current AEW personality Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts stated that he feared for Mick Foley’s well-being back in the day when he was taking crazy risks during matches.
Here’s what the 2014 WWE Hall of Famer had to say about Foley:
“He was asking for my opinion on stuff, what I thought about this and that; he was a young guy wanting to learn, man. He was hungry. I loved Mick’s reckless work, but I feared for his life and for his health.
I don’t know what kind of man I’d be if I’d seen somebody setting themselves on fire and not saying, ‘Stop’? What kind of man would I be? I’d pretty much be a big a–hole, you know? ‘Don’t set him on fire. Oh, go ahead, set him on fire. He’ll be all right’. No, he won’t. And that was my only, I’m not knocking him and what he was doing. I just feared for his health and his well-being.”
It should be noted that Mick’s 1986-2012 pro wrestling career – including major runs in WCW, ECW and the WWF/WWE – took a huge toll on his body.
Foley is only 58 years old but seems to be in a bad overall health condition these days.
Arn Anderson said the following about Mick Foley on his The ArnShow podcast in April 2023:
“He is crippled up. He just enjoys so much still being around the business; he has pretty much volunteered his well-being and health for the entertainment of wrestling fans. And you gotta appreciate that, you gotta respect it, and you gotta just say God bless you, Mick. Thank you.”
Mick seems to have severe issues with 5 intervertebral discs, as well as his entire spine itself. In addition to that, he’s suffering from several muscular and neurological issues.
