Below are a couple of top news stories of the day, featuring ECW Legend Sabu.
• “I would not have had the career I had if it wasn’t for him” – Taz On Sabu’s Death
Taz posted a video on X to remember fellow ECW Legend Sabu. Here’s what he said:
“I have a heavy heart right now because the legendary and great Sabu has passed away at 60. It breaks my heart and I was just watching an old interview last night of him on YouTube, laughing because I know his sense of humor
I got the news today from some ECW guys and I just want to say that I would not have had the career I had if it wasn’t for him. We both debuted against each other in ECW in 1993 in The ECW Arena and he put me over huge, which is something that he didn’t have to do.
Paul Heyman wanted to push Sabu, and rightfully so. My job was only supposed to come in for one match and put Sabu over, but he was so grateful to me, and he got me over each time we stepped in the ring together.
Everything Sabu accomplished in his career is amazing and he was a great hearted soul. I’m going to miss him just so immensely. I feel horrible about this.
RIP to my brother Sabu.”
Sorry, my words are a little frazzled in this vid, I am trying to speak from my heart…I dunno what else to say. #RIPSabu pic.twitter.com/o6ehKa0IjK
