• “If I don’t know what I’m doing, you don’t either” – Tony Khan To WCW Veteran

During a recent appearance on the Wrestling Fetish podcast, AEW President Tony Khan was asked to comment on WCW Veteran Konnan criticizing Khan’s booking and lack of experience in pro-wrestling.

Here’s what Khan had to say about it:

“I think Konnan has called my booking into question, which I find very amusing.

If I recall, the biggest money angle [Konnan/AAA] had that entire year, I booked. I put that entire Lucha Brothers / Young Bucks program together, and sent the whole outline to you, which I still have on my phone. That was your biggest TV show in 2019.

So, if I don’t know what I’m doing, you don’t either.

That being said, I do like Konnan and I would have never said anything like that if he hadn’t said anything about me. I like working with AAA and Konnan.

I’ve also heard Konnan and Disco Inferno say stuff about me on their podcast, but our working relationship has always been good.”

• Old School ECW Veteran Celebrates His Birthday

Old School ECW Veteran Danny Doring (Real name: Daniel Morrison) celebrates his 47th birthday today.

After being trained in the famous ECW House of Hardcore wrestling school in 1996, Danny Doring wrestled for Paul Heyman’s Extreme Championship Wrestling from 1997 until the company closed its doors in early 2001.

For most of his ECW run, Doring was put in a Tag Team with super heavyweight wrestler Amish Roadkill and together they became the ECW World Tag Team Champions on December 3, 2000 by defeating the Full Blooded Italians.

Still to this day, they are the last ever ECW Tag Team Champions, considering that – as opposed to the ECW World Title – the Tag belts were not brought back for WWE’s 2006-2010 version of ECW (on ScyFy).
