• “It’s throwing people off the trail” – Corey Graves Thinks Top WWE Star Will Return For WrestleMania 37

During a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, 16 time WWE World Heavyweight Champion John Cena was asked about his WrestleMania 37 status.

Here’s what Cena said:

“Currently, I’m in Vancouver shooting Peacemaker, the series for HBO Max. Given the quarantine regulations, if I were to leave Canada, upon return I would have to quarantine for another two weeks. Essentially, that would shut production down.

Strictly based on the letter of the law right now, there is no logistical way I can be there. We film now until July.”

During WWE’s After The Bell podcast, WWE Commentator Corey Graves said that he believes Cena is working the fans, and that Cena will return for WrestleMania 37 and work the show in some capacity:

“Let me answer this as eloquently as I possibly can. Hell no, I don’t buy it because it should be John Cena at WrestleMania in some capacity.

There’s a lot of truth to what he’s saying. It makes sense, I understand it, but there’s also a guy who as recently I believe the day of the Royal Rumble last year…told everybody he’s not coming back under any circumstances.

Edge, yeah, the guy who just won the Royal Rumble, did the same thing, man. It’s throwing people off the trail.”

Cena was last seen on WWE programming on Night 2 of WrestleMania 36 last year, where he lost to “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt in a Firefly Fun House match.

In 1985, Liberace appeared on the first ever WrestleMania as one of many celebrities (including Muhammad Ali & Cindy Lauper) and was used as the special guest time-keeper for the main event of the night, Hulk Hogan & Mr. T versus Roddy Piper & Paul Orndorff.

He’s one of the many former WWF celebrities, who are currently not inducted into the ‘Celebrity Wing’ of the WWE Hall of Fame (yet).
