• John Cena Wants A WWF Legend To Return

16-Time WWE World Heavyweight Champion John Cena was recently interviewed by ET Tonight, where he was asked about WWF Legend The Rock’s future in pro-wrestling.

Here’s what Cena said:

“Dwayne Johnson is a star in his own universe. There is no one like him. There will never be anyone like him. For him to be gracious enough to return to WWE, it’s own global entertainment phenomenon, that’s great for WWE and it is great for The Rock.

As a fan of WWE, I really hope he returns. I think it would be special for everyone.”

Cena & Rock faced each other in the main events of WrestleMania 28 & 29, with Rock winning at 28 and Cena winning the WWE Title from him at 29. A few years later at WrestleMania 32, Cena saved Rock from The Wyatt Family and they shared another WrestleMania moment.

• ON THIS DAY IN WWF HISTORY (July 28, 1984) – WWF Superstars of Wrestling

On this day in 1984, the World Wrestling Federation aired an episode of their weekly TV show ‘WWF Superstars of Wrestling’.

This was the original third nationally syndicated show that later became known as “WWF Wrestling Spotlight” after the August 30, 1986 episode.

NOT to be confused with the famous weekly “WWF Superstars of Wrestling” TV show, that eventually took over WWF Championship Wrestling in September 1986 and ran until 1997 (before becoming a recap/highlights show that ran till 2001).
