According to Wrestling Observer, 15 Time WWE World Heavyweight Champion John Cena was scheduled to face Alberto Del Rio for the United States Title at Royal Rumble 2016. Since Cena is injured, Kalisto might be replacing Cena in that match.

That was the reason behind Kalisto pinning Alberto Del Rio clean on this week’s SmackDown, as WWE officials knew about Cena’s injury.
