• Karl Anderson Reveals Why He Sent His Wife An Emotional Text When He Was In The Plane After WWE Crown Jewel 2019

As we’ve noted in the past, there were rumors of heat between Vince McMahon and Saudi Crown Prince after WWE Crown Jewel 2019. This is said to be the reason behind the WWE crew’s flight getting delayed at that time, but the company claims it was a technical problem.

While speaking on the Talk N’ Shop podcast, Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows revealed that it was a pretty chaotic situation. The plane was supposed to leave by 1 AM, but they heard that the pilot returned home due to a lack of rest. They also heard that Vince McMahon had cut the live Crown Jewel feed.

Anderson said that he feared something bad would happen, which is why he sent an emotional text to his wife about his children.

“MPs were surrounding us on the airway tarmac. There were a couple of situations, where just for a couple of seconds, I was like, ‘F*ck man. We are in such a corrupt country with such a corrupt government. Who’s to say that they are not going to come in here and start blasting us, for whatever reason?’

So I remember sending my wife a text, ‘Tell my kids I love them,’ because that’s how hairy it got. But it never got to the depths that people thought that it did.”

He said that he asked Michael Hayes if they were held hostage, to which he replied: “Huh? I don’t know!”

Gallows and Anderson said that there was a lot of tension among the wrestlers, but they were fortunate enough to return home safely.

They noted that they realized there’s wasn’t any real danger once they found out Randy Orton (who’s been with WWE for two decades) and Cain Velasquez (who was once a top UFC star) were still there, stuck with them (as they thought only mid-carders were left back and they would be in the ones in trouble).

Gallows & Anderson won the WWE Tag Team World Cup at Crown Jewel last year.
