• Kurt Angle’s Retirement Is Near

During a recent Q&A session on Facebook, WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle hinted that his retirement is near.

Below are the highlights:

Any chance we’ll ever see another moonsault of the top of the cage again if the time were right?

“If the mood is right, then YES.”

What is the best match for you in 2018?

“Hmmmm. I didn’t really wrestle much in 2018. I guess WrestleMania 34. Tagging with Ronda was fun and memorable.”

Would you rather be young again but never know anything about wrestling, or be older than your current age and still wrestle at the age of 80?

“Neither. I’m happy being 50 and having the career I’ve already had, including the Olympic Wrestling Career. Life is tough. It’s not easy by any means. I’ve regretted some of the mistakes I’ve made but I wouldn’t change it. I’m happy where I am. I’m looking forward to the 2nd half of my life, which includes my wife and kids.”

Hardest thing about wrestling?

“The grind. Having to travel nearly 300 days a year. Traveling city to city, flying country to country. No off season. This was one of the main reasons I left in 2006. It’s pretty tough. Lots of respect for these athletes.”

If you had the choice back in 2002 would you of stayed on SmackDown or would you have preferred to be on the RAW roster?

“I liked SmackDown. It was more of a wrestling show and less of a storyline driven show. It was fun.”

What’s your favorite Christmas movie?

“A Christmas Story. Love Ralphie. He’s the man. Funny movie.”

How many degrees are in Kurt Angle?

“High school and college degrees. Lol. Yes. I’m a college graduate. Proudly.”

Favourite comedy sketch between yourself and Austin during his heel Invasion run?

“We had so many segments that were funny and fun. I’d say when Austin offered me the tiny cowboy hat. He actually bought it for me specifically an airport before the show. Austin was and always will be one of the greatest entertainers of all time.”

How long have you known AJ Styles?

“AJ? 12 years. We had some of the best matches in history. We both were in TNA at the peak of our careers. I enjoyed our matches. AJ is a rare talent. He’s a stud.”

What are you looking forward to the most in 2019? I mean with all the new changes coming.

“I think for me, some more opportunities to wrestle. I don’t plan on going much longer. But there are certain matches I would love to have before I step down. Stay tuned.”
