List Of Matches That Are Expected To Happen At WrestleMania Backlash

Roman Reigns Backlash 2021

The first WWE pay-per-view after WrestleMania 37, WrestleMania Backlash, will take place on Sunday, May 16th at the WWE ThunderDome in Tampa, Florida.

The name of the pay-per-view makes it pretty clear that it’ll mostly feature rematches from the Show Of Shows.

So far, the only match announced for the event is Bobby Lashley vs. Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship.

The proper build-up for the it will start in the coming week. So without further ado, let’s take a look at the list of matches that could take place at the show.

8. Cesaro vs. Seth Rollins

After getting a huge win over former WWE Champion Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 37, Cesaro was eyeing a Universal Championship match against Roman Reigns on SmackDown, but it doesn’t seem like a possibility right now as Rollins isn’t done with The Swiss Superman.

During Cesaro vs. Jey Uso on the SmackDown after WrestleMania, SmackDown’s Saviour interrupted the match and told Cesaro he’s not done with him yet.

It’s likely that they’ll go head-to-head at WrestleMania Backlash, as this could be a way for WWE to build up Cesaro more before he moves on to a feud with Reigns.

7. Apollo Crews (c) vs. Big E – Intercontinental Championship Match

Apollo Crews defeated Big E to win the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 37 after Commander Azeez showed up to take out Big E.

Due to the finish of the match, it seems like WWE will continue the feud between Crews and Big E.

Big E will probably show up on SmackDown in the coming weeks to demand a rematch from Crews at WrestleMania Backlash.
