• Logan Paul Sets World Record

The Holy Grail of Pokémon has reached a new stratosphere. WWE Superstar Logan Paul officially parted ways with his one-of-a-kind PSA 10 Pikachu Illustrator card, which sold at auction for a staggering $16,492,000. The sale didn’t just break Pokémon records; it shattered the previous high for any trading card ever sold at auction, a title formerly held by a $12.9 million Michael Jordan/Kobe Bryant dual-logoman card, setting a new Guinness World Record.

The auction, hosted by Goldin Auctions, was a grueling 42-day marathon that culminated in an intense six-hour bidding war during the final live stream. While the price hovered around $12.5 million for much of the final stretch, a flurry of 97 total bids eventually pushed the hammer price to $13.3 million, with the remaining $3.19 million coming from the 24% buyer’s premium.

The new owner was revealed to be AJ Scaramucci, founder of Solari Capital and son of former White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci. Appearing live on Paul’s stream to receive the card, Scaramucci announced that the acquisition is the start of a planetary treasure hunt. His goal is to build a collection of the world’s most significant artifacts, with his next targets reportedly being a T-Rex fossil and an original copy of the Declaration of Independence.

Paul’s profit on the investment is immense. He famously acquired the card in 2021 through a $5.27 million deal that involved a PSA 9 version of the card plus $4 million in cash. By including the $80,000 diamond-encrusted Poké Ball necklace he wore during his WrestleMania 38 WWE debut match, Paul effectively tripled his initial investment in just five years.

• Update on Contracts of 2 Ex-WWE Stars Signing With AEW

The AEW women’s division just gained a big dose of star power with the official signing of The IInspiration (fka The IIconics in WWE). Cassie Lee and Jessica McKay are no longer just rumored targets; they have reportedly inked multi-year deals with All Elite Wrestling, ending their period as the industry’s most sought-after free agents.

According to Fightful Select, this move has been a “foregone conclusion” for over a month, with the contracts being finalized long before their surprise appearance on Sunday. While many fans expected the Australian duo to debut at Grand Slam Australia, they instead shocked the crowd at an AEW House Rules live event in Brisbane just one night later.

Their arrival marks the culmination of a high-profile signing spree for Tony Khan, who also recently added Lena Kross to the roster.

The IInspiration’s jump to AEW follows an amicable exit from TNA Wrestling. Lee and McKay had been working without contracts since Bound For Glory last October, staying on to finish their storyline as the Knockouts Tag Team Champions. They officially wrapped up their TNA run on January 15, dropping the titles to The Elegance Brand (Heather by Elegance and M by Elegance) in a match that signaled the end of their second stint with the company.

Interestingly, their path to All Elite Wrestling seemed inevitable to many in the industry. Sources within WWE reportedly believed that if the pair didn’t make a surprise appearance at Royal Rumble 2026, they were almost certainly destined for Jacksonville.

With their new long-term deals, The IInspiration now reunite with a familiar face: Harley Cameron, who not only wrestles for AEW but is also the lyricist for the duo’s iconic entrance theme.
