• Mick Foley Reveals Why He Turned Down RAW XXX Appearance

During a new ‘Legion of RAW’ podcast, former WCW World Heavyweight Champion Vince Russo wondered if the reason for Mick Foley’s absence at Monday’s ’30th Anniversary’ special episode of Monday Night RAW could have been Foley having heat with WWE.

Here’s what Russo said:

“You know, bro, I have to ask. I’m just curious, bro if people are turning this down. They are either turning it down or getting snubbed; it’s one of the two. Mick Foley not being there. I don’t know if Mick has heat with the company, I don’t know. But Mick Foley not being there doesn’t feel right.

First of all, Mick, I know Mick is very, very political. So, there could be political reasons why Mick isn’t there. I don’t know.”

The former WWF Champion then took to Facebook to address Russo’s comments and confirmed that he was actually approached by WWE to be a part of RAW XXX.

Here’s what Foley wrote:

“I was definitely asked by WWE, and politely declined due to the hectic nature of my schedule. If I had not taken the past couple days off – and instead traveled to Philadelphia for the show – I would be on the road for 32 consecutive days.

I have been working on a new project – which has been great fun, but also requires a lot of travel – and I just really needed a couple days off to relax and see my wife and children.”

Mick Foley officially retired in 2000 but returned for several matches in 2004, 2006 & 2007, before working as a color commentator on SmackDown in 2008.

Foley didn’t appreciate being yelled at into his earpiece by Vince McMahon though, so this resulted in him giving his notice and jumping ship to TNA later that year.

In 2013, he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame by his former rival & tag team partner, Terry Funk.
