As we noted earlier, PWN reported that Kevin Owens is dealing with an injury and his WrestleMania 41 match is in jeopardy:
“PWN has been told Kevin Owens is dealing with an undisclosed injury with no timetable set for a return to action. This puts Owens’ WrestleMania match vs Randy Orton in jeopardy with 15 days remaining until the show of shows.
To the extent that alternative plans for Orton have been discussed, but no pivot has been made for Orton yet. Owens’ last match came on March 1st at Elimination Chamber vs Sami Zayn in an Unsanctioned match.”
They also noted that Owens’ status will be addressed on tonight’s SmackDown.
In an update, kerrmit125 (who has broken several news stories in the past) reported the following about Kevin Owens:
“The injury requires surgery. He won’t be around for a while. More tonight.”
This most likely means that Owens will miss WrestleMania 41.

The last time neither Rumble winner headlined the biggest show of the year was at WrestleMania 34, where Men’s Royal Rumble winner Shinsuke Nakamura challenged AJ Styles for the WWE Championship, and Women’s Royal Rumble winner Asuka challenged Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship (now Women’s World Championship).
