Let us take a look at the top 8 WWE News & Professional Wrestling stories of the hour:
8. Good News For Raw, Former WWE Wrestler Appears In Bollywood Movie
Last night’s episode of WWE Raw, which was the post-SummerSlam 2016 episode of Raw and featured Finn Balor relinquishing the Universal Championship, Bayley’s official Raw debut & Roman Reigns defeating Chris Jericho in the main event, saw an increase in viewership in comparison to the previous weeks.
Last night’s episode drew 3.32 million viewers, which is up from last week’s 2.92 million viewers.
Former WWE wrestler Nathan Jones will appear in the upcoming Bollywood move “A Flying Jatt” and will be playing the villain in the movie. Below are a couple of videos of him promoting the movie on a Raw recap show in India named “Raw Sunday Dhamaal”:
If you don’t remember who Nathan Jones is, then watch the video below (Hint: He was supposed to be The Undertaker’s tag team partner at WrestleMania 19):
7. Brock Lesnar Temporarily Suspended By Nevada State Athletic Commission, Update on Samoa Joe’s Injury
Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar was temporarily suspended this morning by the Nevada State Athletic Commission for failing both out-of-competition & in-competition UFC 200 drug tests. An estrogen blocker, which is usually taken after a cycle of steroids, was found in Lesnar’s system. Below is what Sherdog.com posted regarding this:
“Lesnar will receive a formal hearing a later date and faces a potential two-year suspension from USAD and the NAC as well as fines. The WWE star earned a disclosed purse of $2.5 million at UFC 200.”
Lesnar still hopes that he would return to UFC again one day and said the following during an interview with TMZ Sports:
“To my fans that watch me in the octagon, I thank them for their support. This has been a bumpy road. I’m gonna get through this alright. And there will be a day, maybe, that they’ll see me back in the octagon.”
It should be noted that this suspension won’t affect Lesnar’s WWE appearances (but it looks like he’s done for the rest of 2016).
Samoa Joe lost his NXT Championship to Shinsuke Nakamura at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn II. It was reported that Joe hurt his jaw during the match and the referee threw the “X” sign (which represents a legitimate injury) after the match. Below is what Joe posted about the injury:
Jaw dislocated & shortly relocated. Looking forward to being cleared soon.
